End-of-Day Closing Prices for Global Equities.

Overview: In addition to our level 3 depth of book data, DIH offers end-of-day closing prices with open, high, low, close, and volume (OHLCV) and the number of transactions for global equities. We also include relevant security reference data and corporate actions with our closing prices. You may choose to receive prices already adjusted for corporate actions (e.g. splits, dividends), or with adjustment factors, so you have both the unadjusted prices, and the factors to apply them yourself.

Coverage: DIH offers closing prices for equities from over 130 countries and 185 exchanges, including:

  • Stocks
  • Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs)
  • Preference Shares
  • Warrants
  • Depositary Receipts
  • Structured Products
  • Tradable Rights
  • Unit Trusts
  • Open-Ended Investment Companies (OEIC)
  • Mutual Funds

History: We have closing prices going as far back as 2002.

Updates:  We update our data daily. This update process “follows the sun” with prices from Asian markets becoming available for download first, followed by Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), and finally by the Americas. Plus, if you cannot wait for official closing prices and adjustment factors that have been verified and filtered, we also offer unconfirmed closing stock prices sooner for major markets.

Delivery:  You can receive our closing prices in bulk files via download, S3 to S3, or on-demand via API.

License Terms: We license our data for either your internal use only or for display/redistribution to your clients. Unlike other data providers, DIH does not have purge clauses – so if you ever stop receiving data from us, you do not have to a ransom to keep the data you’ve already received and for which you’ve paid.

Pricing: Several inputs go into the pricing for our closing prices. For example, do you want data for all available countries/markets and securities, or a subset? How much history do you want? Do you want updates going forward? Contact us to learn more.

Generate Better Research & Analytics.

There are many sources of closing prices on the internet, and like most things in life, not all are created equal. Before choosing a source, you should consider:

  • How are the prices sourced (e.g. from the exchange directly, 3rd party aggregator, or scraping the web)?
  • How broad is the geographic coverage? As your needs expand, can the provider accommodate you?
  • What (if any) quality checks are performed on the prices before they are distributed?
  • How does the provider handle adjustments for corporate actions?
  • Finally, under what terms is the data licensed (e.g. can you share the data with your clients, are there any purge clauses if you ever cancel your subscription, etc.)?

DIH caters to institutional market participants. Given the importance of closing prices to their operations, such firms choose DIH for several reasons:

Exchange-Sourced Raw Data – All of our data is built from raw price data from the exchange. The security reference data and corporate actions portions are sourced from the exchange and/or issuer.

Breadth of Security Types – Our data includes not just stocks, but also exchange-traded funds (ETFs), preference shares, warrants, depositary receipts, structured products, tradable rights, unit trusts, open-ended investment companies (OEIC), and mutual funds. We also include relevant security reference data (e.g. identifiers, exchange details, currency, security descriptions, etc.) so you can easily identify securities.

Geographic Coverage – We offer closing stock prices from over 130 countries and 185 exchanges. So whether you focus on developed, emerging, or frontier markets, we have the closing stock prices you need.

Timely Updates – To ensure you receive your closing stock prices as quickly as possible each day, our downloads become available as markets close around the world.

Adjusted vs. Non-Adjusted – You may choose to receive your closing stock prices already adjusted for such corporate actions as dividends or splits. Or we can provide unadjusted prices along with the adjustment factors for you to apply on your side.

Complete & Accurate Data – To ensure the highest quality data possible, all of the closing prices, security reference data, and corporate actions are checked both algorithmically and manually reviewed before they are made available for download.

Flexible Licensing Terms – DIH licenses its closing stock prices for internal use or for display/redistribution. We also do NOT have any purge clauses like many data providers. So if you ever cancel your subscription, you do not need to delete the data you’ve already downloaded.
